Playmobil loves Christmas and has been making Playmobil Christmas Playsets virtually right from the company’s inception.
In the 1990s Playmobil introduced the Playmobil Advent Calendar. Some of the early Playmobil Advent Calendars have become collectors items and are now quite valuable but you can still pick up bargains through the links given on this site. They are very durable toys. They become treasured items and besides being played with during the year, are often brought out and reset up each Christmas along with the other decorations.

The word ‘Advent’ means ‘arrival’ and with an Advent Calendar you open a door or box which corresponds to the count down day toward Christmas. They begin on December 1st and go through to December 24th. You are probably all know the chocolate advent calendars that are on sale which gives you a little chocolate each day from December 1 through to the 24th.
Playmobil’s Advent Calendars are similar however, you open a box each day which contains one or more pieces of Playmobil that you place on a diarama to build a Christmas scene. By the end of the 24th Day you have a complete Playmobil Christmas Play Set. Playmobil even include an empty box for the 25th so that the giver can put in a little gift to be opened on Christmas Day. All Playsets grow and complement other sets that you have.
